"We get knocked down, but we get up again" - 2cor4:9 Failure can feel like a punch in the gut. And when it keeps happening it's tempting just to give up. But you can't; you must 'get up again.' Failing doesn't make you a failure, quitting does. H.E. Jensen said, 'The man who wins may have been counted out several times, but he didn't hear the referee.' A failure-free life feels safe, but it fosters boredom, apathy and low self-esteem. Ever noticed that the devil never reminds you of what you've learned? No, he wants you to keep reliving the painful details. Learn the lesson, then forget the details! Victory requires building on what you've learned and moving on. Theologian Brooke Foss Westcott said, 'Great occasions don't make heroes or cowards, they simply unveil them... Silently, as we wake or sleep, we grow strong or weak, and at last some crisis shows us what we have become.' This article ran in The Wall Street Journal: 'You've failed many times although you may not remember. You fell the first time you tried to walk. You almost drowned the first time you tried to swim. Did you hit the ball the first time you swung the bat? English novelist John Creasey got 753 rejection slips before publishing 564 books.' H. Jackson Brown gives us two rules for winning: Rule One: Take one more step. Rule Two: When you can't take one more step, refer to rule number one.----------------------- Thats from Bob Gass. It was just so inspiring to read even though I couldnt quite understand what it would mean to go through all of that. But I know life will bring you there some day and its worth learning this now than through the hard way later :) I will always get up again, for Your Glory!

Hello there. Its 2011.
Does feel different than ever. I am only left with nine months in melb. its devastating to think of it. the people, the place, the freedom!
gotta embrace the change.
There is also this lingering issue at hand. only for Him to fulfill.
There is then the big dream coupled with a mountain at distance oh fear not, for a faith like a mustard seed can move mountains!
Buttttt nevertheless, I forsee a fantastic year ahead :) cuz I'm in better hands.

I have done lotsa thinking today from small group. Overall, its positive :)
Lets see what they have been..
- Dating a non-believer (LOTS OF DISCUSSION ON THIS) and of course, that leading to marriage/raising children
- Single-hood vs Burning with passion (i.e. wanting a family)
- Divorce and Affair
- Separation when husband/wife leaves the marriage (i.e. w/o a mutual divorce)
Dare I say all these come with real life experiences of people close to our hearts in the small group and in the church congregation. It is been heart wrenching and I couldnt hold back the tears.
These then led to:
- God's Timing
- Patience and Long-suffering
- Lack of Godly Men around
- Strong Christian wives yolked with Weak Christian head of households - so is that unequally yolked as much as marrying a non believer cuz he still can't hold his wife accountable in a Godly way? Or he can even have his Christian values wrong?
We were so open to discussion that I felt so freed (even though i didnt have much to say at all since I was the least/not at all experienced one so I kept quiet and listened in... and absorbed :P) like there was no judging, no holding back thoughts and all discussion was done admonishing one another lovingly with what the Scriptures have to say. And of course, challenging how to interpret the Scripture.
Well, I have realised it is very important to be in a personal relationship with God with no external influence that dictates it directly cuz He provides for each his own and no one person has the same provision as another in all aspects of life. So while we debated around these topics all night we also acknowledged that God can beautifully use everything for His glory. Having said that, we have the duty to discern and allow for His will be done in important choices in life.
The whole discussion tonight taught me that everyone of us are made in Gods' IMAGE means He sees everyone of us individually independent from our family/friends/relationships/etc and loves us EACH with an unconditional love. as an independent entity and has a plan which is often UNIQUE for each person - so husband's different from wives. however in oneness they might be.
----------------------------------------------
Apart from the above, I have thought much about my exam tomorrow.
Ha! time to chowww.

Look at what Heb 5 says:
Two parts -
1. How did Jesus react when the flesh tempted Him?
"7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. 9 And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, " 2. How much do we understand of this - the Gospel in essence? 11 About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil --------------------------------------------------------
